About
Lou McDonald studied civic technology, democratic reform, and inclusive governance at the Harvard Kennedy School. He served as a research assistant at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and is a Google Public Policy Fellow, with a focus on expanding democratic access through technology and public policy.
Lou has held roles with New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan, and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley. He most recently led a digital team for Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2020 Democratic National Convention.
Through the Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellowship, Lou hopes to help cities strengthen civic trust and design public programs that reflect the voices of youth, working families, and historically underrepresented communities.
Initial Fellowship Focus: The fellow will strengthen collaborations within and outside of City Hall necessary to build program capacity and develop systems to use data to guide policy decisions, measure program impact, and allocate resources effectively to enhance the quality of life for youth and families in Pomona.
