Carolyn is senior director for city support and student engagement where she leads a team to apply and advance learning beyond the classroom for city participants and students. She works to integrate across city support, student engagement, and the City Hall Fellowship teams while fostering process improvement and data-driven impact.
She brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education leadership working at the intersection of organizational development, strategic planning, and fostering high-performing teams. Prior to joining the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, Carolyn served as senior director for program strategy, development, and delivery in the professional education team at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Previously, she served as the Assistant Academic Dean at Harvard Kennedy School, and she led teaching and learning initiatives at Harvard Kennedy School (SLATE and the Case Program) and the Harvard Medical School (Office of Educational Quality Improvement). Over the past 15 years, Carolyn has developed and led dozens of student service projects for mayors and community organizations. She has forged lasting collaborations with government and community-based partners and fostered the development of hands-on professional skills for students in the context of urban field co-curricular activities.
