About

Irum is dedicated to expanding equitable access to opportunity by strengthening public systems and enabling cross-sector collaboration. At Harvard, Irum served as a teaching fellow for courses on public sector management, policy evaluation, and development delivery. She also contributed to research on leadership, technology accountability, and public sector innovation.

Her professional experience spans government, international organizations, and civic leadership. Elected to multiple leadership positions at Harvard—including co-chair of the India Caucus and the International Government Student Council—Irum brings a global perspective and lived experience to her work. A first-generation college graduate from Western Uttar Pradesh, India, she is driven by a belief in the power of inclusive institutions to improve lives and expand access for those furthest from opportunity.

Initial Fellowship Focus: The fellow, along with their working group, will craft a comprehensive strategy for data integration, utilization, management, and governance, with a primary goal of creating a more data-informed proactive city government.
